Does Life Has to be So Stressful?
There will always be stress in life. Life is always changing and with change often comes stress. So how does one cope with an ever changing, stress filled life?
First of all you decide it is okay to feel stress. You decide you do not have to tell everyone that you are stressed out and you to realize everyone else is stress out too. You may say, “Not everyone!” Yet realize those who look calm have learned stress is okay, it will not ruin their day and they can feel stress while still having a productive day.
What does that look like in your mind? Thoughts are very powerful. When you wake up, say to yourself “I love my life” or I feel great” rather than, “I am going to have a good day.” Act like you are already content.
Journal in the morning to show yourself you are capable of handling your day (even if it does include screaming children or a disgruntled boss, employee or spouse.) Decide with certainty nothing will enter your life that you cannot handle today.
What does that mean? It means when you begin to feel road rage on your way to work, you tell yourself “I have enough time.” Or when your kids are not listening you think, ”I hear you.” When you are dealing with unreasonable people, you think, “I love you.” Or “Thank you.”
You realize you are not a victim and nothing is being done to you. You realize there is always a solution, even if you do not see it just yet. You realize it is okay to have a bad day but there is no need to take it out on anyone else. And you walk away from any person who decides it is okay to take their bad day out on you.
We forget what we tell children when they are being bullied. We tell them to walk away. Heed this advice when you are bullying yourself in your thoughts or being treated rudely by another. Walk away and do it with the thought of “I love you.” Or “Thank you.”
With a thought of gratitude comes the realization of how many gifts we receive each day. The fact you woke up this morning was a gift. How often do you thank what you believe in? How often do you feel humble with in your abundant life?
How often do you feel it is not abundant enough and therefore invoke thoughts of entitlement followed by the stress of needing to get more? Pausing and being humble with feelings of gratitude is a wonderful stress reducer.
Life is filled with stress, it will always be. Try these tools, see if they work, then greet your day with calm certainty that in each moment, no matter how hard, you will feel content.
And know, “Life is not meant to be an uphill climb, it’s just life”AuKeeRa Rayne
